At the 2026 GWCT Scottish Game Fair, we were proud to host a special gathering dedicated to some of Scotland’s most cherished and endangered native dog breeds. Each day of the Scottish Game Fair featured a rare breed meet-up, shining a spotlight on three extraordinary breeds, this year we look to focus our attention on three breed groups, Gundogs, Hounds and Terriers.

Each day one breed group will take centre stage, offering visitors the unique chance to meet these remarkable dogs up close, discover their rich histories, and chat with passionate owners and breeders who are working hard to safeguard their future.

At a time when many native breeds are in decline, these meet-ups are a celebration of Scotland’s original working dogs—each one a living link to our land, heritage, and sporting traditions.
