The 2026 Kronch Four Nations Gundog Competition delivered three days of exceptional sporting action at the GWCT Scottish Game Fair, with handlers and dogs from across the UK and Ireland showcasing outstanding skill, teamwork and determination.

The highlight of the competition saw Team Scotland crowned overall champions, taking first place after a series of impressive performances throughout the event. England finished as runners-up, followed by Wales in third and Ireland in fourth.

Individual honours were also awarded across the Four Nations competition. Mick Walsh claimed both Top Spanieland Top Hunting Spaniel, while Fraser Forbes secured the titles of Top Retriever and Top Dog. Team awards saw Scotland recognised as the Top Retriever Team, with Ireland taking the Top Spaniel Team title.

The All Age competitions also produced some outstanding performances. In the All Age Spaniel class, Arlene Deansclaimed first place ahead of Connor Reid and Tom Forgie. The All Age Retriever title went to Ally Kennedy, with Donnie Leitch finishing second and Duncan Sutherland third.

Competition remained fierce in the Open classes. Debbie Mould won the Open Spaniel class, followed by Jim Wardrope in second, while Graham Clark secured third place and was recognised as Top Hunting Spaniel. In the Open Retriever competition, David Logan took the top spot ahead of Jimmy Fisher and Lee Davis.

The future of the sport was also celebrated in the Junior Handler competition, where Freya Cowan was crowned champion. Heidi Nunneley finished second, with Austin Nunneley taking third place after an excellent display of handling ability.

The Kronch Four Nations Gundog Competition remains one of the standout attractions of the GWCT Scottish Game Fair, bringing together some of the UK’s and Ireland’s finest working dogs and handlers in a celebration of skill, partnership and sporting excellence.
