The Four Nations Gundog Competition is a prestigious team event held at the GWCT Scottish Game Fair, bringing together top handlers from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
In 2026, the competition celebrates its ninth year at the Fair, marking nearly a decade of showcasing exceptional gundog talent.
Each nation selects its own team, chosen by their national captain, with teams made up of three Spaniels and three Retrievers. The competition features separate Spaniel and Retriever working tests, all conducted under UK Kennel Club rules. Individual entry is by invitation only, ensuring the highest standard of competition.
Renowned for its atmosphere and closely fought results, the Four Nations Gundog Competition is a highlight of the Fair’s gundog programme.
Subaru presents the Kronch Four Nations Gundog Competition, following the success of the last eight years.
Teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales will compete with the Spaniel competition kicking off at 9.30am and the Retrievers at 1.30pm (each team consisting of three from each breed). As in previous years, this promises to be an exciting event with a nail-biting close competition. Grab a seat in the grandstand for the best view of the dogs working and be sure to go to Gundog Control Tent if you have any questions.
All gundog working tests will be held under UK Kennel Club rules. Entry for individuals in all competitions is by invitation. Team events are selected by each nations captain.
