Bring Your Dog and Join the Fun!

Looking for one of the most entertaining dog events at the GWCT Scottish Game Fair? Terrier Racing is guaranteed to get tails wagging and crowds cheering.

Taking place in the Main Arena, Terrier Racing is a fast-paced, family-friendly competition where dogs race after a moving lure, showcasing their speed, enthusiasm and natural instincts. It’s one of the most popular attractions of the weekend and a favourite for visitors of all ages.

The best part? You don’t need to own a terrier to take part. All Dogs Are Welcome!

Two Chances to Race Every Day

There are two Terrier Racing sessions each day, giving plenty of opportunities to get involved or cheer from the sidelines.

Whether you’re competing or simply watching, expect plenty of laughs, friendly competition and unforgettable moments as dogs of every shape and size race towards the finish.

Win a Bottle of Persie Gin

Every race winner will receive a fantastic prize. The winner of each race takes home a bottle of Persie Gin, adding a little extra incentive for the quickest four-legged competitors.

Meet the Organiser

Terrier Racing is organised by Clair McPake, who is now celebrating her third year running the event at the Scottish Game Fair. Based in Glenshee, Clair and her partner Stephen share their lives with 11 working dogs, including:

  • 5 Labradors
  • 4 Cocker Spaniels
  • 2 Patterdale Terriers

“It’s an absolute joy to bring everyone together, see the dogs having an amazing time, and watch the crowds packed around the Main Arena enjoying the chaos unfold! I’m delighted with how quickly Terrier Racing has grown in popularity over the last three years.”

Away from the Fair, Clair manages holiday lets while Stephen works in groundworks. During Terrier Racing weekend, Stephen becomes the “glamorous assistant”, providing the muscle behind the lure machine while Clair keeps the races running smoothly.

Their passion for dogs and the countryside has helped Terrier Racing become one of the busiest attractions at the Scottish Game Fair.
